VOP TOPS ALL SOS CANDIDATES IN FUNDRAISING
Hoosier Architect Secures Dollars and Support To Outpace Fellow Democrat and Republican Opponents
INDIANAPOLIS—In his bid to become Indiana’s next Secretary of State, Democratic candidate, Vop Osili, has reached a notable fundraising achievement by raising over 96 thousand dollars in this last reporting cycle.
According to the website campaignfinance.in.gov, Osili has reported $80,128.20 cash-on-hand as of the January 20th filing deadline. According to Osili, the average donation is about $250.
“I am encouraged and humbled by the overwhelming level of support for my campaign,” Osili said, “and I am particularly proud that 80% of my 300+ donors thus far are supporting me on a regular basis—the enthusiasm keeps growing! Further, given what my friends who also seek this office were able to raise, both Republican and Democrat, I feel that my campaign’s level of financial support is extremely encouraging.”
Osili, known by his friends simply as “Vop,” is a successful architect and business owner from Indianapolis. His campaign has focused its efforts on building up grassroots networks and reaching out to the Party faithful. “Our campaign has traveled to 47 counties to date,” said Osili, “and we will be visiting all 92 counties before the state party convention in June.”
Osili’s unique first name was given to him as a toddler by his parents. “Vop” stands for “Voice of the people” and has become the theme of his campaign. “I was given the nickname as a toddler because I talked a lot, “ said Osili, “and now I have channeled that spirit into being a voice for others.”
Besides Osili, there is one other Democrat and one Republican candidate filed thus far for the soon-to-be open seat. The current Republican incumbent, is term-limited and cannot run again.
