You can adjust browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. Some advertising networks also offer opt-out tools for interest-based advertising.

4.3 Privacy rights under Indiana and other laws

Indiana has enacted a comprehensive consumer data privacy law, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (ICDPA), which provides certain rights to covered Indiana consumers, including rights to access, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and certain data sharing.

This law primarily applies to businesses that process personal data of large numbers of Indiana residents or derive significant revenue from selling personal data, and may exempt nonprofits and political organizations. Whether and to what extent those rights apply to you and to this campaign will depend on how the law is interpreted and on our data practices.

Regardless of whether the ICDPA or other state privacy laws legally apply to us, we will make a good-faith effort to honor reasonable requests from Indiana residents to:

  • Access the personal information we maintain about them;

  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information; or

  • Delete their personal information, subject to our legal obligations (for example, under campaign finance laws we may need to keep certain contribution records).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the methods described in Section 9 below. We may take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request and may deny requests where an exemption applies or where we are unable to verify identity.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

6. Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including for the duration of the campaign and any successor committee, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including campaign finance record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

8. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our Services may link to third-party websites, apps, and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third-party properties, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites or services you visit.
